Your best source of omega-3 fatty acids is through fish like salmon, mackerel, albacore tuna, and sardines. Leafy Green and Cruciferous Veggies

Adults who eat more leafy greens and cruciferous veggies have less cognitive decline than those who don’t. This is because these veggies are full of antioxidants that protect the brain from free radical damage. Free radicals are the waste products produced by the body when cells use fuel to create energy. Avocados, nuts, and seeds are high in vitamin E. This too is an antioxidant that helps prevent the onset of Alzheimer’s. Vitamin E from foods is more beneficial than supplements. So, make sure you get your daily dose of vitamin E, which is approximately 15mg a day.

Boost the Brain with Dark Chocolate

Yes, it’s true. Dark chocolate is an antioxidant that helps boost brainpower. It contains flavonoids that protect blood vessels from rupture, oxygen damage and prevent inflammation. Dark chocolate is also high in vitamin C, another antioxidant.

Fiber-Rich Whole Grains

Whole grains, such as oatmeal, brown rice, and oat bran, stabilize sugar levels in the body. The brain relies on glucose for energy. Eating these foods helps keep sugar levels steady and prevents a spike in blood sugar that occurs with refined carbs. Consider 25gm of fiber daily for optimum levels of health.

These brain-boosting foods not only help boost brainpower but are also extremely healthy. Consider making these foods a part of your diet to avoid various problems that occur with aging.
