Colorado Rockies

When you think of Colorado, you picture vast, Rocky mountain terrain and high desert plateaus with a scattering of forests along the way.  When you think of Colorado, you may think of skiing, tobogganing and ice fishing.  Colorado is a state that offers these amenities and much more.  If you are considering moving to Colorado for your retirement years, you are making an excellent choice.  There is so much that you can see and do, that you will rarely have time to miss your old home and State.

About Colorado

The Rocky Mountains, the most famous landmark of Colorado, rises majestically into the sky at a height of 14,110 feet above sea level.  This beautiful scenery, and the cool, pleasant weather and its many ski resorts make Colorado a high-end tourist spot.  Aspen, Steamboat Springs, Estes Park, Colorado Springs are some of the areas for great winter skiing.  They are also beautiful retreats at other times of the year as well!

Colorado is a state where almost every mountain and plateau is filled with gold, silver, and other minerals.  Petroleum, one of the most worthy commodities in today’s world, can be found in abundance in Colorado.  Because of its location, halfway between major cities in California and the Midwest, Colorado serves as a branch location for many of the manufacturing companies and a number of banks.  More than a third of mining, logging and grazing rights of Colorado are owned by the government.

There are many things to see and do when in Colorado.  For example, if you are in Denver, you can gaze in wonder at more than 15,000 species in the Denver Botanic Gardens, see a performance at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and catch a baseball game at the Coors Field.  Residents of Aurora can enjoy a day of golfing at the Meadow Hills Golf Course or enjoy a horseback ride at the 12 Mile Stables.  Southlands is a regional shopping mall located in Aurora and is the largest open-air mall in the US.  All of the major shopping outlets from Wal-Mart to JC Penny to Victoria’s Secret are available at Southlands.

So much of life can be experienced in Colorado, which makes it ideal for urban senior living styles as well as for mountain living.  If you are interested in moving to Colorado, we suggest that you visit this wonderful state and sample what it has to offer.
