About New Braunfels, Texas

The city of New Braunfels, Texas is a fun place to be in. This city has a proud German heritage which is quite apparent in various ways. For example, “braunfels” means brown stone in German. The city’s newspaper is called the Herald Zeitung. Zeitung was originally a newspaper published in German until it was merged in 1967 with the Herald. Life in Braunfels is serene and peaceful but also quite exciting. This is a charming, tourist town and good times are just a hop, skip and a jump away from your own peaceful home.

There is boating or floating down Canyon Lake, visiting the Dry Comal Creek Vineyards for wine tasting and visiting the Conservation Plaza where you can see an actual replica of a German village from the 1800s. Another great attraction in New Braunfels is Landa Park. This is 51-acres of scenic trails and picnic areas. Landa Park also offers you the Landa Park Aquatic Complex and Landa Park Miniature Golf Course.
