Schell Brothers Snags Best Green Built Homes in Delaware for Second Time

Schell Brothers, a well-known home builder in Delaware had good reason to celebrate on the 17th of May 2013. This homebuilder, once again for the second time, walked away with the award for the Best Green Built Home in Delaware! And this was not the only award they snagged on this great night of nights. Schell Brothers also took home the Sales Director of the Year, for the second consecutive year, award which was awarded to Jamie Hudson. Selections Coordinator of the Year award was presented to Larry Gee and Johnny Cristaldi was awarded the Superintendent of the Year award while Josh Hay was named Sales Person of the Year. The award for the Best Green Built Home was presented to the Hartford model home at Heritage Creek in Milton, an age-targeted, maintenance-free active adult community. One of the first models built with Schellter™ Advanced Building Science technologies, this model offers a score of 48 on the HERS scale. This facility provides homeowners an estimated $2,000 savings on annual heating and cooling cost over a typical home with a 130 HERS score. Schell Brothers are the first home builder in Delaware to sign on to RESNET’s program, thereby;committing a 100% to marketing their achieved HERS scores. This builder delivers52 HERS score on standard homes and 31 on homes with upgraded solar.

The EPA’s stringent Indoor AirPlus Program specificationsinclude 16 SEER Air Conditioner, Natural Gas, Double Low-E windows, Rinnai Tankless Water Heater, Advanced Framing Techniques including 2×6 constructions 24” on center, raised heel trusses and insulated window and door headers. The Hartford model meets with all these specifications. These high performance features and 100% customer satisfaction, based on customer feedback, also earned Schell Brothers the Best Single Family Home Design by the National Home Builders Association Sales and Marketing Council award.

Apart from this Schell and its affiliated companies Kincade Homes, Echelon Custom Homes, Echelon Interiors, and Renew Smart Renovations took home an impressive total of 24 awards. Best Single Family Home from $250,001 – $400,000 was awarded to the Bryer model in Wagamons West Shore by Kincade Homes. Multiple awards for the best home, kitchen and bath designs was taken home by Echelon Custom Homes while the award for Single Family Resort Community of the Year was given to Breakwater in Lewes and Best Active Adult Clubhouse was given to Independence Hall at Independence in Millsboro.
