Greensboro North Carolina captures the definition of the perfect hometown. Welcoming, and familiar, it’s the small town with a big personality. Known for friendly locals, and affordable living, it’s no surprise this cultural city was featured as one of the best cities for livability by U.S News & World Report. From its beautifully preserved turn of the century homes to its thriving downtown business district, Greensboro weaves urban functionality with a rich history. This idyllic location is one of the Piedmont Triad cities shared with Winston-Salem, and High Point, boasting lush seasonal landscape, a vast array of outdoor recreation, and iconic landmarks. Greensboro’s sense of community and nostalgic small-town ambiance is an integral part of what makes this town such an attractive destination for retirees, and young families alike.

Set between the Atlantic, and the Appalachian Mountains, Greensboro residents are in their element when it comes to exploring the great outdoors. Whether it’s hiking or cycling through over 90 miles of trails, exploring city parks, or spending a day on the golf course, Greensboro inspires active, healthy living. For those who love a waterfront lifestyle, lakes Higgins, Brandt, and Townsend provide a picturesque venue for a variety of water sports from paddle boarding, to kayaking. Golf pros can practice their upswing at one of Greensboro’s sprawling courses including the West at Grandover Resort, Greensboro Country Club, and Gillespie Golf Course where 80 acres of rolling green offers fun for all skill levels. For some spectacular sightseeing, visitors can meander through tranquil botanical gardens or experience a fiery autumnal display on a fall foliage tour. North Carolina’s four-season climate and diverse landscape makes embarking on an outdoor excursion a year-round event.

Founded in 1808, history resonates throughout the city. Steeped in Revolutionary War, and Civil Rights Movement history, Greensboro’s cultural roots run deep. Historic landmarks from the Guilford Courthouse Military Park, and Tannenbaum Historical Park, to the International Civil Rights Center & Museum, give visitors a glimpse into the city’s past. There is no shortage of entertainment from sports events at the Greensboro Colosseum Complex, and lively nightclubs, to the variety of breweries, and live music events. Home to a vibrant, walkable downtown area that offers an exciting nightlife, and plenty of shopping, along with a mouthwatering culinary scene, at the end of the day, it’s the close-knit feeling of community that puts Greensboro on the map.
