San Diego, California will be a haven of activity in November.  Wondering why?  Well, it’s because Southern California residents are in for a Blast from the Past with the world famous Glen Miller Orchestra performing at the Del Norte High School on Sunday, November 4th.   Two performances are scheduled by the orchestra on this day; a matinee performance at 2.00 pm followed by an evening performance at 6.00 pm.  So, if you grew up tapping your toes to the music of the Glen Miller Band, keep this day free to take a trip down memory lane and have a gala time.  ActiveAdultLiving.Com, a web site that details over 5,800 active adult living communities across the USA is excited to be teaming up with the organizers and the Glen Miller Orchestra to spread the news of this upcoming event among all the active adults in the Southern California.

The Glen Miller Orchestra was one of the biggest bands during the swing era.  Formed in 1938 by Glen Miller, the band became extremely popular with a great number of hits such as, “In the Mood”, “Moonlight Serenade” plus “Chattanooga Choo Choo” and many, many more.  Miller was a man who greatly respected the armed forces, and in World War II, he traveled to various parts of the world to provide relief and moral support to the soldiers.  Sadly, in 1944, Glen Miller’s plane disappeared over the English Channel and he was declared as missing in action.   The disappearance of Mr. Miller did not bring its fellow band members down.  As a tribute to their beloved friend, the band was built up once again, by the lead tenor saxophonist, singer and Miller’s best friend, Tex Beneke.  However, the band was reformed by the Miller estate in 1956, with Ray McKinley, the drummer from Miller’s Army Air Force Band.  Since its inception in 1938, the Glen Miller Orchestra has performed under many different leaders and won many awards and nominations.  This time, the Band will be performing under the leadership of singer Nick Hilscher, and you will get to experience true talent when you see him and the orchestra in action in San Diego.

If you are into swing dance music and feel you need a chance to tap your feet in time to the music, this is an event that you should not miss.  The Glen Miller Orchestra will be performing in various venues from the months of October through December.  They will begin their concert tour on the 10th of October in Sandpoint, Idaho and complete their tour on the 18th of December in Cambridge, Ohio.  If you are a Glen Miller Orchestra fan, and would like nothing better than to see a live performance of these talented performers, this is your chance to do so.  So, residents of San Diego and Southern California, keep your calendar free on the 4th of November to have a super duper afternoon or evening.

Senior residents of any active lifestyle communities within the state of San Diego, California should reserve their tickets as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment.  Tickets are going like hot cakes and you do not want to be one of the many who will miss this opportunity of a lifetime.  Reservations can be done by visiting the https://glennmillerorchestra.com/ and clicking on the “booking” option.  Relive the swing era and enjoy the perfect sound of music this November with the Glen Miller Orchestra.
