About Tennessee

Tennessee lies between the Mississippi River on the west and the Appalachian Mountains on the east. Tennessee has three distinct regions. These regions are divided into Eastern Tennessee, Middle Tennessee and Western Tennessee. Eastern Tennessee is high and densely wooded. This is where you will find the Great Smoky Mountains. Although initially isolated because of its rugged terrain, today Eastern Tennessee is the most industrialized part of the state. Hills and plateaus and gently rolling bluegrass can be found in Middle Tennessee. This part of Tennessee is better known for its fine Tennessee Walking Horses. The rich soil in Middle Tennessee makes this part an ideal location for cotton growing. Western Tennessee is part of the Mississippi floodplain.

Tennessee is also known as the “Volunteer State”. Why, because many brave men volunteered to fight in the Mexican War and the Civil War. Tennessee supported the Confederacy during the Civil War and was the scene of extensive military action. Many sights in Tennessee are centered on this part of history. Apart from this, you will be able to see the perfect replica of the Parthenon in Nashville, Graceland in Memphis and also stand in the place where Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. If you are considering moving to Tennessee, you can go bowling with your friends, canoeing, visit the Grand Ole Opry, the Lane Motor Museum, visit the National Civil Rights Museum and take in the peaceful surrounding of the Memphis Botanic Gardens. There is so much to see and do, in Tennessee; you will not miss your old home for a moment.
